The Bermuda Festival of the Performing Arts heads into its 44th year this January!
From January 19, 2019 until March 9, 2019 a mix of dance, music, and storytelling from all over the world will bring their work to the people of Bermuda.
When the festival begun four decades ago there was an emphasis on music and while this has shifted to reach every member of the diverse community, the festival stays true to its original philosophy: to offer a range of performances by a diverse selection of artists of international repute.
Most recently it was announced that a new Shakespeare on the Rock series of plays will take place during the festival. TJ Armand, the festival director, said about the inclusion of the Shakespeare company joining the festival: "We felt there really needed to be a home for Shakespeare on the island and we really wanted to make it a part of not just the festival but also our outreach programme."
