Tyne Daly, Mothers and Sons - Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play

My friend John Vincent Fahey called me, I had been out at an appointment, and he told me the news and then I came home and there were a bunch of messages for me and a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Sharon Gless - so it was a very feel-good morning!

The show getting nominated is the best because it includes everyone who works on it - I sent a silly email to Tom Kirdahy that the show's been in our hands from time that it could crawl to when it could walk and now it can run - so it takes a village! Everyone involved deserves the recognition.

To celebrate, well I went out and did what I call retail therapy, I was out of stockings so I bought a ridiculously expensive pair of stockings! And maybe we'll do a little something after the show tonight, I always keep a bottle of champagne in the theater so maybe we'll open that up and have a little celebration!
