Andy Karl, Rocky - Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical
Someone said that I am the hardest working actor on Broadway and 'll take that award - coming from a hard working blue collar middle class family, we all worked for hard for what we got. And I might be a Bway kid now and I'm very grateful for that, but I still put in the hard work. I was up since 7:30 this morning. You know being nominated is one of those things that people at stage door and friends kept saying 'you're gonna get this' I was filled with self doubt you never know how it's going to go. I sat there and listened but didn't expect it until it was said. Orfeh was jumping up and down, the dogs were barking and we were having such a good time. I get to celebrate by going to the gym, because I still have to take my shirt off every night I have to look like I can take on Apollo. I'll probably put some milk in my Protein powder instead of water to celebrate, but I still have to go to the gym and sweat go to the show and sweat. But with the acknowledgment today it's all worth it, I'm happy to represent the show I truly believe it touches preople's hearts something they've never experienced before. They think a lot about it when they get home - the love story, the spectacle I'm happy to be a part of it.
