ALLEGIANCE - A NEW AMERICAN MUSICAL Starring Lea Salonga & More Set for The Old Globe 2012-13 Season - Full Season Announcement, San Diego

The Old Globe’s 2012-13 Season will feature the World Premieres of two new musicals: Allegiance – A New American Musical by Jay Kuo and Lorenzo Thione and A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder by Robert L. Freedman and Steven Lutvak. The season also includes George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion in celebration of the classic play’s 100th anniversary and the World Premiere of a new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House by Anne-Charlotte Hanes Harvey and Kirsten Brandt. Two recent Broadway hits will make their San Diego debuts at the Globe: David Lindsay-Abaire’s Good People and Jon Robin Baitz’s Other Desert Cities. Rounding out the season are the West Coast Premiere of Bekah Brunstetter’s Be a Good Little Widow and the Southern California Premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney’s The Brothers Size. (more...)

Salonga, Feinstein, Buckley, Cook & more Lead Segerstrom Center's 2012-13 Cabaret Season

Last week, Segerstrom Center for the Arts (formerly the Orange County Performing Arts Center) announced its brand new Cabaret Series for the 2012 - 2013 Season. Once again, familiar Broadway talent will make up most of the Center's impressive Cabaret series, which include Tony Winners Lea Salonga, Betty Buckley, and Barbara Cook. Rounding out the line-up are husband-and-wife Broadway stars Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley, and Grammy-nominated artists Michael Feinstein and Jane Monheit (with the John Pizzarelli Quartet). Philippine Development Foundation ("PhilDev") will present it's upcoming gala event, PhilDev Celebrates Broadway: Suites by Sondheim,on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 7:30pm at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City. Headlining the event are Tony Award winners Robert Lopez, who will be honored with an Award of Excellence, and international star Lea Salonga. Lea Salonga, Stephanie J. Block, et al. Set For 'Do You Hear the People Sing? The Dream Concert!' 10/7-9

The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra today announced the cast for Do You Hear the People Sing? The Dream Concert!, a world premiere pops production of music from renowned Broadway composers, Alain Boubil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, the creators of the hit musicals Les Misérables and Miss Saigon among others. Conducted by the Orchestra's Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly, Do You Hear the People Sing? The Dream Concert! will open the ISO's 2011-2012 Printing Partners Pops Series on Oct. 7 and 8 at the Hilbert Circle Theatre in downtown Indianapolis and also will be performed at The Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Ind., on Sunday, Oct. 9. Ayala Foundation Presents LONG SEASON, 9/25

The Ayala Foundation USA today announced that Filipino-American Broadway stars will be featured in a concert version of an original Filipino musical, Long Season, at its upcoming gala on September 25, 2010 at The Fairmont Hotel located at 170 South Market Street in San Jose, CA.
