Nearly $38,000 Raised for STAGES St. Louis and BC/EFA at A WICKED WONDERLAND

On Monday, December 17, 2012, the National Touring Company of Wicked hosted A Wicked WONDERLAND at the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis, MO. The event featured the company of Wicked, and net proceeds benefited Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and STAGES ST. LOUIS. Tickets ranged from $25 for students/actors to $100 for VIPs which included a post-show meet-and-greet reception with the cast. In addition to the performance, the event featured live and silent auctions including several opportunities to join the company backstage at The Fabulous Fox Theatre. (more...)

CAROLS FOR A CURE is the annual two-disc holiday CD compilation of original songs and holiday classics which benefits BC/EFA. These CDs boast the best voices from the worlds of Broadway, Off-Broadway and national tours. The cast of Broadway's CHAPLIN was already hard a work this week recording their track for the album. The holiday season totally snuck up on me this year. I'm writing this on December 11, just TWO WEEKS before Christmas (and already three nights into Hannukah), and I'm more than a little bit panicked!! Two weeks to do all of my shopping? EEK to say the least. Luckily I have the BC/EFA Catalogue of Giving, which offers hundreds of Broadway-themed gifts, my favorite of which I'll share with you below. Proceeds to the wonderful causes supported by Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS, which this year includes help for victims of Hurricane Sandy and similar disasters. (more...)

Lisa Lambert is turning 50 and she's opening her trunk...of songs. Tonight, December 10 at 7pm, Lisa and her guests Jonathan Crombie, David Cromer, Cole Escola, Cady Huffman, Troy Britton Johnson, Beth Leavel, and Greg Morrison visit The Drowsy Chaperone, "Slings & Arrows," "Skippy's Rangers: The Show They Never Gave," and an assortment of her other delightful, sometimes misguided, musical comedy ventures. This concert will be part of the long-running Broadway at Birdland concert series, with all proceeds going to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. (more...)

BC/EFA Donates $250,000 to Hurricane Sandy Relief

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS announced today that a portion of proceeds currently being raised by Broadway, Off-Broadway, and national touring companies during the six-week fall fundraising efforts will be donated to three relief agencies committed to immediately helping victims of Hurricane Sandy. EVITA star Ricky Martin, whose antics during Broadway's 'Saturday Intermission Pics' ritual each weekend are followed religiously by fans, Tweeted something new this weekend: a picture of himself with no pants on.
