People’s Light has released first look photos of the regional premiere of the ripple, the wave that carried me home by playwright and writer Christina Anderson.

On Monday night, The Horton Foote Prize held their first in person ceremony since 2018 honoring Christina Anderson, the 2022 winner. Pulitzer Prize winning playwrights and Ms. Anderson's former teachers and mentors, Paula Vogel and Lynn Nottage, presented Christina with $50,000 and a limited edition of Keith Carter’s iconic photograph of Horton Foote.

Mathew Lopez, the author of THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA MCBRIDE, which is now on stage in the Studio Theatre at Beck Center, also wrote THE INHERITANCE, which, in 2018 was the most honored American play in a generation, sweeping the 'Best Play' awards in both London and New York including the Tony Award, Olivier Award, and Drama Desk Award. He is also the writer of THE WHIPPING MAN, which also won numerous awards.

Westport Country Playhouse is staging the comic satire, “Straight White Men,” by Young Jean Lee, from now through June 5, directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director. The show’s 2018 Broadway run made Lee the first Asian American female playwright to have a work produced there.

The glorious Opera Theatre of Saint Louis opened it’s festival season last night with a sheer delight: Puccini’s delectable one-act comedy, Gianni Schicchi.

The Off Broadway hit DADDY ISSUES, written and directed by David Goldyn, makes its South Florida debut at the Willow Theatre in Boca Raton (300 S. Military Trail) and runs from March 1 through 10. THE PRICE by Arthur Miller premiered on Broadway in 1968 and was nominated for two Tony Awards, for Best Play and Best Scenic Design. It is a timeless piece regarding the choices we make and the consequences we eventually face. It is about family dynamics, the price of furniture and the price of one's decisions, taking place in a soon to be demolished family house where two brothers, estranged for decades, meet together to dispose of their late parents' property. The resulting confrontation leads them to examine the events and qualities of their very different lives and the price each of them has had to pay to have the lives they now lead.
