Thommie Retter (Billy Elliot) and Retter Entertainment ring in the holidays for the HOW MANY consecutive year with This Way To Broadway Live: Jingle Jam!, an original musical/song and dance showcase for audiences of all ages on Sunday, December 4 at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre, 10 West 64th Street. The show brings together talented kid performers from the stage and screen-many of whom have already appeared on Broadway and on tour-and others who are Broadway bound. The script was penned by mother/daughter writing team Sheryl Berk and Carrie Berk (Peace, Love & Cupcakes: The Musical; Fashion Academy: The Musical) with original songs by Thommie Retter and Rick Hip-Flores (In Transit; Fun Home; Billy Elliot). The world premiere of 'Throw Me on the Burnpile and Light Me Up,' written and performed by the Oscar-nominated Lucy Alibar (Best Adapted Screenplay for 'Beasts of the Southern Wild'), will open this Friday, September 16 at 8 p.m. Currently in previews, 'Throw Me on the Burnpile...' will continue through October 2, 2016, at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre. Originally scheduled to be produced on the Harriett stage at Mad Cow, The Big Meal will be presented on the more intimate Zehngebot-Stonerock stage as a result of the extension of Mad Cow's popular Avenue Q.

 Lake Forest Theatre presents its inaugural season opener, THE SECRET GARDEN, opening June 10 and running through July 2, with the press opening on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. Managing Artistic Director Steve Malone will direct the season opener at the newly renovated John & Nancy Hughes Theatre, 400 East Illinois Rd. in downtown Lake Forest. The production will be accompanied by a 15-piece live orchestra.

Friends in Theater Company and State of Play Productions' THE SECRET GARDEN, a Broadway benefit for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, presented the first of two sold-out performances last night, January 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Lucille Lortel Theater. The fully staged production, directed/choreographed by Curtis Holbrook, was led by Rebecca Luker as Lily, Gabriella Pizzolo as Mary, and Bradley Dean as Archie with Tom Deckman, Ali Ewoldt, Frances Mercanti-Anthony, Bill Nolte, Eli Tokash, Max von Essen, and Cortney Wolfson. Additionally, composer Lucy Simon and original cast member Daisy Egan co-hosted the night.
