TheaterWorks Hartford Producing Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero announced today that the limited run of EVERY BRILLIANT THING will star Chad Jennings (Broadway's WICKED). Just last night, Manhattan Concert Productions presented a 50th Anniversary Celebration of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at David Geffen Hall, Lincoln Center. Michael Arden (Stage Director) and Stephen Oremus (Music Director) lead this one-night-only performance, featuring a chorus of over 300 singers from across the United States, professional cast and creative team, and the New York City Chamber Orchestra.

5-STAR THEATRICALS (formerly Cabrillo Music Theatre) continues its 2017-2018 season with the Thousand Oaks premiere of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Peter Parnell (based on the Victor Hugo Novel and songs from the Disney film), musical direction by Dan Redfeld, choreography by Michelle Elkin and directed by Misti B. Manhattan Concert Productions (MCP) presented Broadway Classics in Concert, on Tuesday, February 20, 8:00 PM, in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. The concert featured Michael Arden(Ragtime, Hunchback of Notre Dame), Sierra Boggess (The Secret Garden), Carolee Carmello(Broadway Classics 2013), Allan Corduner (Titanic), Quentin Earl Darrington (The Secret Garden), Ramin Karimloo (Parade, The Secret Garden), Norm Lewis (Ragtime), Laura Osnes (Crazy For You), Lea Salonga (Ragtime), Ryan Silverman (Titanic), and Tony Yazbeck (Crazy For You).

New Village Arts Theatre has announced its winter production of the Tony Award-Winning musical, THE SECRET GARDEN, directed by the award-winning Rosina Reynolds. The production will run from November 3 to December 24.

An original musical with music and lyrics by Tony Award-winning composer, Jason Robert Brown, (Parade, The Last Five Years, Bridges of Madison County) and book by Dan Elish and Robert Horn, it premiered on Broadway in 2008 and is the only Broadway musical ever with a cast and band entirely made of teenagers.

I am incredibly proud of all my kids and Ryan is pursuing his dream as a performer. He has been performing for quite awhile now as a professional and I have had the idea that this would be so since about his Junior year in High School. I have always taken the time to include my kids (when they have shown an interest) into the shows I was doing. Ryan and his older sister, Kaitlynn, were able to be more inundated with it at a young age as I was more active as a professional performer and they got to be backstage and at rehearsal, and often in shows with me. Whenever I was in a show that needed kids, I got them an audition and, since they were talented, often got cast, so we were able to share the stage. Sound of Music, South Pacific, Music Man, Secret Garden, A Christmas Carol, all shows that my kids been able to share with me.

Broadway and West End star Tam Mutu stars as Archibald Craven in The 5th Avenue Theatre's enchanting Broadway-bound revival of The Secret Garden. Mutu joins a phenomenal cast including Tony Award winner Daisy Eagan, Tony Award nominee Josh Young, Lizzie Klemperer, Charlie Franklin and Sean G. Griffin.

Rehearsals began this week for the new West End cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child who will start their performances at the Palace Theatre in London's West End on 24 May 2017 following the final performance from the current cast on 21 May 2017. 

TIME Magazine's #1 Show of the Year, MATILDA THE MUSICAL, opens at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts April 25 for a limited two week run through May 7, 2017. Tickets to MATILDA THE MUSICAL will go on sale Friday, February 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

Manhattan Concert Productions (MCP) has announced the creative team for the 25th Anniversary concert performance of Gershwin's Tony Award-winning musical comedy Crazy for You, on February 19, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. at David Geffen Hall, Lincoln Center.

Porchlight Music Theatre announces the Chicago premiere of the Broadway musical The Scottsboro Boys, February 3 - March 12, featuring music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb, book by David Thompson, direction by Samuel G. Roberson, Jr, music direction by Doug Peck and choreography by Florence Walker-Harris with Breon Arzell as associate choreographer, at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. The performance schedule is Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There is an added matinee performance Thursday, March 2 at 1:30 p.m. NOTE: *There are no Thursday 7:30 p.m. performances February 9 and March 2. Tickets for previews are $38 and for the regular run $45 - $51. A Red Orchid Theatre continues 2016- 2017 Season with the Chicago premiere of The Nether, written by Jennifer Haley,directed by Ensemble Member Karen Kessler. The Nether features Ensemble Members Guy Van Swearingen and Doug Vickers with Maya Hlava, Ashley Neal and Steve Schine. The production runs January 26 - March 12, 2017, at A Red Orchid Theatre, 1531 N. Wells. Press Opening is January 30, 2017 at 7 p.m. 

Keith Tomasek, a blogger from Ontario, Canada, was recently invited to an open rehearsal for Garth Drabinsky's Broadway-bound SOUSATZKA, where he captured some great backstage moments and previews from the event.

Thommie Retter (Billy Elliot) and Retter Entertainment ring in the holidays for the HOW MANY consecutive year with This Way To Broadway Live: Jingle Jam!, an original musical/song and dance showcase for audiences of all ages on Sunday, December 4 at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre, 10 West 64th Street. The show brings together talented kid performers from the stage and screen-many of whom have already appeared on Broadway and on tour-and others who are Broadway bound. The script was penned by mother/daughter writing team Sheryl Berk and Carrie Berk (Peace, Love & Cupcakes: The Musical; Fashion Academy: The Musical) with original songs by Thommie Retter and Rick Hip-Flores (In Transit; Fun Home; Billy Elliot). The world premiere of 'Throw Me on the Burnpile and Light Me Up,' written and performed by the Oscar-nominated Lucy Alibar (Best Adapted Screenplay for 'Beasts of the Southern Wild'), will open this Friday, September 16 at 8 p.m. Currently in previews, 'Throw Me on the Burnpile...' will continue through October 2, 2016, at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre. Mad Cow Theatre is delighted to announce the cast and creative team for the poignant comic drama The Big Meal, which will take the stage Aug 5, 2016 as the ninth production of Mad Cow Theatre's Season 19. Originally scheduled to be produced on the Harriett stage at Mad Cow, The Big Meal will be presented on the more intimate Zehngebot-Stonerock stage as a result of the extension of Mad Cow's popular Avenue Q.
