Broadway Shines, the organization of Broadway kids serving to mobilize the Broadway community to help children and families in need, just concluded this year's coat drive. Since 2010, the kids of Broadway have been supporting GMA's 'Warm Coats & Warm Hearts' drive. The organization has already collected more than 350 coats for the cause this year and anticipates a donation tally of approximately 400 coats.

To coincide with the ongoing presidential campaign, the Huntington Theatre Company will stage the American premiere of Now or Later, Christopher Shinn's timely political drama about our freedoms. Drama Desk and Outer Critic's Circle Award winner Michael Wilson, who recently helmed the acclaimed Broadway production of Gore Vidal's presidential drama The Best Man, directs the new production. EDGEWISE, a new play by Eliza Clark and directed by Trip Cullman, will be given its world-premiere this fall in a co-production by the Off-Broadway companies Page 73 and The Play Company, running now through December 4, 2010, at the Walkerspace (46 Walker St.) in Tribeca.
Star of the stage and screen, Jill Clayburgh passed away yesterday, November 5, at the age of 66. Clayburgh lost a 21 year battle with chronic leukemia. Clayburgh is survived by her husband, playwright David Rabe, and her daughter, Lily Rabe, who is currently starring in the Broadway production of 'The Merchant of Venice.'
