WE STEAL SECRETS: THE STORY OF WIKILEAKS Soundtrack Set for 5/21 Release

Back Lot Records will issue a digital release of the soundtrack for We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks, the new documentary from Academy Award winner Alex Gibney, on Tuesday May 21st . The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack features new music by Fall On Your Sword. A world premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks will be released by Focus World in New York and Los Angeles on Friday, May 24th and in select cities on Friday, May 31st; and on digital platforms including VOD beginning on Friday, June 7th. THE AMERICAN PLAN to Transfer to St. James Theatre

St. James Theatre and Theatre Royal Bath Productions present the Ustinov Studio production of The American Plan by Richard Greenberg, directed by David Grindley. The production will transfer to the St. James Theatre from Tuesday 2 July to Saturday 10 August 2013, with press night on Monday 8 July at 7pm. The production received its UK premiere earlier this year at the Ustinov Studio, Bath. Booking opens for members and friends of the St. James Theatre on Monday 6 May and to the general public on Wednesday 8 May 2013. (more...)

KCACTF Announces National Awardees; 45th Annual Festival Set for 4/15-20

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced national awardees for outstanding work from the regional festivals that were held January 8 through March 3, 2013. Individual awardees and a representative from each of the outstanding productions will travel to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. for an expenses-paid trip to participate in the 45th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), April 15-20, 2013. BWW Reviews: Stages' DOLLHOUSE - A Suspenseful, Thrilling Ride

Stages Repertory Theatre is presenting a tense and taut production of Rebecca Gilman's DOLLHOUSE. The 2010 play is a modernized retelling of Henrik Ibsen's classic A DOLL'S HOUSE. DOLLHOUSE is set in Chicago, circa 2004. Scandals, like Enron, have rocked American society, and the financial stability of the country is starting to falter. Rebecca Gilman's narrative puts a wealthy couple at the center of the pressure-cooker drama, where Terry keeps close tabs on the families various accounts with hopes to pay off debts and Nora is a shopaholic with a spending addiction. Tension mounts while anxiety gives way to anger and shows for dominance, racing towards Henrik Ibsen's famous door slam. Yet, in DOLLHOUSE, Rebecca Gilman adds a modernizing twist to the classic ending that will give audiences plenty to talk about, but, in my opinion, only serves to solidify how disgusting and unlikeable the two main characters really are. Lincoln Center Theater previously announced that Betsy Aidem, Blair Brown, Michael Cerveris, Anthony Cochrane, Lauren Culpepper, Alvin Epstein, Kathryn Erbe, John Glover, Jennifer B. Grace, Katie Kreisler, Stephen Kunken, Haviland Morris, Dale Place, John Procaccino, Gareth Saxe and Alan Schmuckler would be featured in the 18-member cast of its world premiere production of NIKOLAI AND THE OTHERS, a new play by Richard Nelson. The play, which was commissioned by Lincoln Center Theater, will be directed by David Cromer and will begin performances tonight, April 4 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. PCPA's Theaterfest Director Patricia M. Troxel Passes Away

Patricia M. Troxel, highly respected and dearly loved artist and teacher, died on Sunday, April 21 from complications of a fierce four-plus year battle with breast cancer. Patricia was well known to the Central Coast theatre community and community at large in her role as Director and Literary Manager for PCPA Theaterfest, where she directed and dramaturged dozens of plays and taught hundreds of students, and as an Emeritus Associate Professor of English at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. BREAKING BAD's Bryan Cranston to Star in A.R.T.'s ALL THE WAY; Full Cast Announced!

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University has announced that three-time Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston will play the lead role of Lyndon Baines Johnson in Robert Schenkkan's new play All The Way opening the A.R.T.'s 2013-14 Season at the Loeb Drama Center. DETROIT '67 to Head to Harlem Following Run at The Public Theater, 3/23-4/14

Following its run at The Public Theater, Detroit '67, the much buzzed-about play by two-time NAACP Image Award recipient, Dominique Morisseau, will open at the National Black Theatre on Saturday, March 23. Directed by Kwame Kwei-Armah, the powerful drama will run through Today, April 14, presented by Time Warner. Billed as 'Uptown Meets Downtown,' the production is a collaboration between the Classical Theatre of Harlem (Ty Jones, Producing Artistic Director), National Black Theatre (Sade Lythcott, CEO; Nabii Faison, General Manager and The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director; Patrick Willingham, Executive Director).
