Craig also discussed playing Macbeth in drama school, the production's recently announced initiative to give tickets to New York City students, and more.

For Verdi, Shakespeare was a long-standing passion and Macbeth (the first of his three Shakespearean masterpieces) is widely seen as a major step forward in his artistic development. First seen in 2002, Phyllida Lloyd’s production encapsulates the sinister quality of the piece, with striking designs by Anthony Ward.

The Acting Company in association with The Guthrie Theater presents William Shakespeare's 'Macbeth,' directed by Devin Brain; and 'A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court,' adapted by acclaimed playwright Jeffrey Hatcher from the novel by Mark Twain, directed by Ian Belknap. In celebration of Macbeth, the Guthrie Theater's 50th production of a Shakespeare play, the Theater today released a photo retrospective of the past 49 productions, from Tyrone Guthrie's Hamlet in 1963 to the currently running Romeo and Juliet, co-produced with The Acting Company.
