The Toronto International Film Festival®'s Wavelengths programme is thrilled to unveil the 18th edition of its adventurous and carefully curated lineup of shorts and feature films from around the world. This rich and varied selection of 43 films demonstrates the ways in which filmmakers continue to expand cinema's aesthetic, narrative, and documentary forms and languages. This year's selection comprises 4 programmes of experimental short films, 2 curated pairings, and 10 features, each contributing to an exciting, diverse lineup of moving-image art. Wavelengths is curated and overseen by Andre?a Picard, with contributions from members of TIFF's international programming team, namely Giovanna Fulvi, Kiva Reardon, Steve Gravestock, and Danis Goulet.

Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece Long Day's Journey Into Night comes to the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts for a limited three-week engagement from Friday, June 8 through Sunday, July 1. Richard Eyre's acclaimed Bristol Old Vic production stars Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons(Brideshead Revisited, Reversal of Fortune, 'The Borgias') and Olivier Award winner and Oscar nominee Lesley Manville(Another Year, 'Harlots,' Phantom Thread). Matthew Beard (The Imitation Game, The Riot Club), Rory Keenan (BBC's 'War & Peace,' 'Peaky Blinders') and Jessica Regan (reprising the role as Cathleen from the 2016 Bristol Old Vic production) round out the ensemble cast.
Goodman Theatre Holds Free Student-Performed Showcases for its Summer Youth Programs

More than 60 Chicagoland teenagers will perform in two final showcases at Goodman Theatre to conclude the theater's summer programming-Playbuild Youth Intensive and Musical Theater Intensive-on August 11 and 12 at 7pm. Both programs were offered free of charge and taught over a course of seven-to-eight weeks in the Alice Rapoport Center for Education and Engagement ("the Alice"). This year's theme, "What it Means to be an American," uses Langston Hughes' poem "I too, Sing America" as inspiration. The final performances are scheduled for Friday, August 11 and Saturday, August 12 at 7pm at Goodman Theatre (170 N. Dearborn). Tickets are free but reservations are required; call 312.443.3800. These sessions are part of NOURISH-a multi-year initiative between the Goodman and CPCP to develop a greater capacity for arts-based community-led transformation-led by Walter Director of Education and Engagement Willa J. Taylor (Goodman Theatre) and Michael Rohd (Founding Artist/Director of CPCP/Sojourn Theatre).
