Historic Fort Adams in Newport, Rhode Island Opens Daily for an Adventure Filled Season May 25, 2013by BWW News Desk - May 22, 2013Famous for exciting sailing and water sports, Newport Rhode Island also offers fun and adventure on land with the re-opening of Fort Adams on May 25, 2013. Historic Fort Adams is a National Historic Landmark, and the largest and most complex coastal fortification in North America. Visitors to the Fortress can explore the fort and outer defensive works, take a two mile walk around the peninsula on the Bay Walk, relax on the grass overlooking Narragansett Bay, fly kites or play Frisbees, engage with re-enactors in military exercises, or even picnic. Sarasota Fire Department to Receive $20,000 Grant for Sarasota Opera Houseby BWW News Desk - May 21, 2013Marking $1 million in grants awarded by Fireman's Fund to fire departments in Florida, the Sarasota County Fire Department is receiving $20,000 to purchase smoke detectors and a fire extinguisher training system that will be used to teach local residents how to safely and effectively use fire extinguishers.
