On Saturday, June 22 at 8:30pm and Sunday, June 23 at 4pm, Caramoor kicks off the 68th Summer Festival with its first ever Broadway production, She Loves Me. Official: LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE to Open at Second Stage in November 2013

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced that the new musical comedy, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, with book and direction by James Lapine and music and lyrics by William Finn, will kick off the theatre's 35th anniversary season this fall. James Lapine and William Finn return to Second Stage Theatre where they most recently collaborated on The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Previews for LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE begin October 15, 2013 with an official opening in mid- November. Casting, full creative team, and opening night date will be announced at a later date. (more...)

McCarter Theatre Adds 6/9 Performance of INTO THE WOODS

Due to popular demand, McCarter Theatre has announced one additional performance of its smash-hit production of Into The Woods as reimagined by Fiasco Theater Company. Thanks to sold-out houses, great reviews, and nightly standing ovations, McCarter had previously announced it had extended the run through the matinee performance on Sunday, June 9. But fans will get one more chance! This innovative new production of the Stephen Sondheim/James Lapine musical-theater classic must close after the added evening performance on Sunday, June 9 at 7:30pm. (more...)

Spring 2013 SpotLight Program Honorees Announced by Hennepin Theatre Trust

Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced the new spring 2013 honorees from Minnesota high schools recognizing musical theatre accomplishments by school and category for the 2012-13 SpotLight Musical Theatre Program. Now in its eighth successful year, SpotLight is Hennepin Theatre Trust's flagship educational initiative which honors and supports Minnesota high school musical theatre students and programs. This year, 56 schools, including nine from greater Minnesota, are presenting musicals made possible by the collaboration of almost 5,000 students and annually seen by an estimated 105,000 audience members. monterey media has completed a deal with production company 3K Pictures for all US and Canada rights to Sam Kadi's debut drama THE CITIZEN starring Agnes Bruckner (BLOOD AND CHOCOLATE, The Woods), Khaled Nabawy (Fair Game, Kingdom of Heaven), William Atherton (GHOSTBUSTERS, THE LAST SAMURAI), and Cary Elwes (THE PRINCESS BRIDE, NEW YEAR'S EVE) with a theatrical release set for August 2013 as it was announced by monterey media's President Scott Mansfield.
