Terence Blanchard’s opera Champion, based on the true story of the troubled former middleweight boxing champion Emile Griffith, will have its highly anticipated Metropolitan Opera premiere on April 10, with nine performances running through May 13.

The full cast has been announced to join West End stars Carrie Hope Fletcher and Laura Pitt-Pulford in a special one-off concert of THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK at the Sondheim Theatre on Monday 20 June 2022, directed by Olivier Award-winning Maria Friedman.

West End stars Carrie Hope Fletcher, Danielle Steers and Laura Pitt-Pulford will star as Sukie, Alexandra and Jane respectively in a special one-off concert of THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK at the Sondheim Theatre on Monday 20 June 2022, directed by Olivier Award-winning Maria Friedman.

THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK has a book and lyrics by John Dempsey and music by Dana P. Rowe, based on the novel by John Updike and the Warner Brothers motion picture. Maria Friedman will direct with musical staging by Stephen Mear. Olivier Award-winning actor Giles Terera will star as Darryl Van Horne.

Broadway has lost a marketing genius. David Risley, age 53, passed away on February 2nd, 2021.  Risley had been working in the Internet arena for over twenty years developing websites and on-line marketing strategies for hundreds of theatrical projects.  

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is proud to host powerhouse Broadway veteran and South Florida favorite Avery Sommers on November 2nd for a Brunch show.Sommers will showcase her formidable vocal talent in a one time only performance on Saturday, November 2nd at 2PM. 'The Witches of Eastwick' is a novel by John Updike, which was filmed in the 80s and became one of the decade's greatest cult films of the same name. The story was rebuilt into musical and was first put on London's West End. We can now proudly present the 'Witches in Eastwick' on Circus this fall which is something very unique in its kind, never before has this award-winning musical been made in Sweden. The premiere is on September 19th at Circus in Stockholm.

Peter Joback is involved in the production with his company Sinclair Entertainment. So far there is no information if he will play the lead or if he is one fo the producers. Peter Joback originated the role as Michael Spofford when the show opended in London the 18th of July 2000.

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts has announced that the first U.S. National tour of the hit musical THE BODYGUARD, will play Reynolds Hall from Today, Nov. 21 to Sunday, Nov. 26. Tickets go on sale next Friday, Sept. 29.
