Photo Coverage: Steve Tyrell Brings IT'S MAGIC to Cafe Carlyle

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel welcomes back hitmaker and beloved crooner Steve Tyrell to the Cafe Carlyle for an engagement that celebrates legendary songwriter Sammy Cahn. It's Magic: The Songs of Sammy Cahn will feature songs from Mr. Tyrell's new album of the same name which will be released on May 14th. The program pays tribute to the incredible work of Sammy Cahn, whose songs are firmly embedded in the Great American Songbook and during the early 60s defined a generation, giving life to The Rat Pack's repertoire. BWW Interviews: Andrew Crigler Goes From Rat to Director in Fabrefaction's CHARLOTTE'S WEB

It is not unusual for directors to revisit plays that they have previously performed in, however, it is a little unusual to do so as quickly as Suzi-nominated actor/director Andrew Crigler currently is. In February and March, Crigler played Templeton The Rat in the Alliance Theatre's production of 'Charlotte's Web,' and from May 10th-12th, he will be directing the same show as part of Fabrefaction Theatre's Young Artists Season. Lee Mead and Kerry Ellis Join THE WEST END MEN at the Vaudeville Theatre, 25 May to 22 June

Lee Mead (Wicked, Legally Blonde, BBC Series Winner of Any Dream Will Do) will be joined by special guest star Kerry Ellis for selected performances (Wicked, Oliver, We Will Rock You, Born Free Tour with Brian May) in The West End Men, running at the Vaudeville Theatre from 25 May until 22 June, with press night on 3 June 2013. The West End Men is directed by the award winning Mitch Sebastian (The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas) and produced by Milton Morrissey Ltd, Jason Haigh Ellery and in association with Paul Tyrer & Jamie Clark for The Booking Office. BWW Interviews: Viva Las Vegas! Designer Christine Jones Sets the Stage for the Met's Rat Pack RIGOLETTO

If God is in the details, Christine Jones must certainly be praying at the right church. As the scenic designer for the Metropolitan Opera's new RIGOLETTO, Jones has taken the concept that director Michael Mayer sold to the Met--the '60s Las Vegas of Sinatra's Rat Pack vs. the 16th century Mantua of the original--and flown it to the moon. The result is a smart production that is fun to watch and works visually even when certain directorial details--Rigoletto doesn't live up to his billing as a 'Don Rickles-type'--seem tenuous.
