David Lindsay-Abaire's GOOD PEOPLE Comes to Trustus Theatre, 3/22-4/6

Playwright David Lindsay-Abaire won the Trustus Playwrights' Festival with his script Show of Hands in 1995. He went on to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2007 for Rabbit Hole, which Trustus produced in 2008. Now, Trustus is bringing Linday-Abaire's newest Tony-nominated script Good People to the Thigpen Main Stage under the direction of nationally-acclaimed guest director Jim O'Connor. Good People opens on Friday, March 22nd at 8:00pm, and runs through April 6th, 2013. (more...)

Robin Amos Kahn & Gary Richards' Scrambled Eggs, directed by Matthew Penn will get its NY Premiere at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre beginning April 23 and opening on April 27 through May 11. The play will begin performances tonight, March 27, 2013 and will play through April 21, 2013 on The Claire Tow Stage in the C. Newton Schenck III Mainstage. Tickets are $40-$70. Aurora Theatre Company continues its 21st season with the World Premiere of OUR PRACTICAL HEAVEN from acclaimed playwright Anthony Clarvoe (Pick Up Ax, Show and Tell, Ambition Facing West). This family drama, which originated as one of Aurora Theatre Company's Global Age Project (GAP) finalists in 2011, is the third main stage production to develop from the GAP. Patti LuPone, Sutton Foster, Betty Buckley and More to Appear on Seth Rudetsky's Broadway Concert Series in New Orleans, Beginning 1/7

Five of the entertainment world's leading ladies will perform in New Orleans in 2013 as Seth Rudetsky's popular Broadway Concert Series makes the leap to NOCCA's Lupin Hall from its summer home at The Art House in Provincetown, MA. Patti LuPone, two-time Tony winner for Gypsy and as the legendary original Evita, will appear for two shows only on January 7th at 6:30 and 8:30. Sutton Foster, two-time Tony-winner for this year's Anything Goes and previously for Thoroughly Modern Millie and star of the ABC Family series Bunheads arrives for one show only on March 2nd at 7:30. Megan Mullally, two-time Emmy-winning star of TV's Will and Grace and star of Broadway's Young Frankenstein performs two shows only on April 6th at 7:30 and 9:30. Audra McDonald, a five-time Tony Award winner and recent star of Porgy and Bess on Broadway and TV's Private Practice will make her New Orleans debut with two shows only on May 18 at 7:30 and 9:30. Betty Buckley, the Tony winning legendary star of Cats and Sunset Boulevard will close the series on June 1 with two shows only at 7:30 and 9:30. The visiting Broadway artists will also be giving master classes for the NOCCA Institute's high school-aged musical theatre students. All five concerts are produced by Mark Cortale, long time producer/manager of Jeffery Roberson aka Varla Jean Merman, and will be hosted by Sirius/XM radio star Seth Rudetsky at the piano. Actors Theatre of Louisville to Open 37th Humana Festival with Sam Mark's THE DELLING SHORE, 2/27

The 37th Humana Festival of New American Plays, made possible by a generous grant from the Humana Foundation, opens with the world premiere of Sam Mark's The Delling Shore, directed by Actors Theatre's associate artistic director Meredith McDonough. The Delling Shore is playing in the Bingham Theatre and begins previews on February 27, opens March 1 and runs through April 7. Tickets are on sale now to the public and can be purchased at the Actors Theatre Box Office by calling 502-584-1205 or online at ActorsTheatre.org.
