Bay Street Theatre begins the 2013 Mainstage Season with Lend Me a Tenor (May 28 - June 23). This hilarious Ken Ludwig comedy started rehearsals this week in New York City under the direction of Don Stephenson. The cast includes Judy Blazer, Scott Cote, Betsy DiLellio, Donna English, Nancy Johnston, Noah Plomgren, Steve Rosen and Roland Rusinek. Ticket prices are $59.50 and $69.50. Bay Street Theatre presents The Mystery of Irma Vep, written by Charles Ludlam and directed by Kenneth Elliott, as the second production in its 2013 summer Mainstage season following the hysterical comedy, LEND ME A TENOR playing through June 23. The Mystery of Irma Vep runs July 2 - 28 and stars Tom Aulino and 5 time Obie Award winning actor David Greenspan. Arizona Theatre Company's Artistic Director David Ira Goldstein Resigns

Arizona Theatre Company announced today that David Ira Goldstein, ATC's Artistic Director since 1992, will be leaving the Company in December of 2013. In his 21 seasons as artistic director, Goldstein led the Company to unprecedented levels of attendance, critical acclaim, community support, educational outreach and national prominence. During his tenure, he produced over 200 plays, workshops, readings and presentations in Phoenix and Tucson, while personally directing more than 40 mainstage productions ranging from classics to new plays to musicals. Susan Lucci to Host Bay Street's ROCK THE DOCK SUMMER BENEFIT BASH, 7/20

The annual 'ROCK THE DOCK' SUMMER BENEFIT BASH on Saturday, July 20, will be hosted by the one and only Susan Lucci. Actor and Bay Street Board Member, Richard Kind, who most recently won the DRAMA DESK AWARD for his role on Broadway's THE BIG KNIFE, will be the evening's celebrity auctioneer. Board member Joy Behar also plans on attending, with a host of other surprise celebrities. The gala is being held in honor and memory of the Theatre's founder and former Artistic Director, Sybil Christopher. (more...)

Linda Balgord & Ali Gordon to Lead CROSSING SWORDS at NYMF; Full Cast Announced!

The 2013 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) AND Forte Musical Theatre Guild present Crossing Swords a world premiere musical comedy by Joe Slabe, nominated for five Betty Mitchell Awards and three Calgary Critics' Awards. NYMF veteran Igor Goldin directs a cast of five including Linda Balgord (Bway: The Pirate Queen, CATS, La Cage, Gypsy standby for Patti Lupone; Nat. Tour: Sunset Boulevard), Ali Gordon (Regional: Fiddler on the Roof, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown), Steven Hauck (Bway: Irena's Vow), Lyle Colby Mackston (Papermill: 25th Annual...Spelling Bee), and Marrick Smith(New York: Love's Labour's Lost). Bay Street Theatre held its Second Annual Honors Benefit on Saturday, April 27 at East Hampton Point, hosted by funny-lady and Bay Street Thatre Board Member Joy Behar. This year the honorees were Hampton's Hometown Heroes including David Bray, Ana R. Daniel, Michael Grim and James Osburn. All four of the honorees support Bay Street as well as many other local businesses & non-profits in the Hampton's Community. The event is held Spring each year, not only to recognize outstanding patron involvement, but also to raise funds for its theatrical and educational programs. (more...)

Chris Clavelli's Comedy About Parental Loss Premieres June 6

"A Little More Than You Wanted to Spend," Chris Clavelli's heart-warming one-man play about parental loss, receives its New York premiere in a four-week engagement at The Drilling Company, 236 West 78th Street, beginning Thursday June 6 at 8pm. Written and performed by Clavelli, "A Little More Than You Wanted to Spend" is directed by John Hickok. Running through Sunday June 30 at 3pm, this is the inaugural production of New Dog Theatre Company, led by Dean Gray. The opening is set for Monday June 10 at 8pm. (more...)

A.R.T. to Present PIRATES OF PENZANCE, 5/10-6/2

American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.), in association with the Loeb Drama Center, begins performances of the runaway hit of the 2012 Emerging AmericaFestival, Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance, in a new adaptation by Sean Graney and Kevin O'Donnell, arranged by Kevin O'Donnell and the Cast.
