WICKED Announces Lottery for $25 Tickets at Ohio Theatre, Begin. 6/5by BWW News Desk - May 29, 2013A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held for WICKED, which is returning to the Ohio Theatre with performances from June 5-23. Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at the east entrance of the Ohio Theatre (just off State Street between the Ohio Theatre and the Sheraton) can place their names in a lottery drum. Names will be drawn 30 minutes later for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available in-person only at the Ohio Theatre with a limit of two tickets per person. Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form and, if chosen, when purchasing tickets. (more...)

Boasting the pre-Broadway world premiere of If/Then, the Washington premiere of American Idiot, and the historic return of the Tony Award-winning The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, the 2013-14 season at The National Theatre includes eight productions, and runs November 2013 through June 2014. BWW Reviews: Ghostlight's GIANT (Original Cast Recording) is Majestic, Opulent, and Mesmerizingby David Clarke - May 28, 2013Edna Ferber has been proven to be plumb inspiration for grandiose and sweeping musicals. 1927's Show Boat was based on her 1926 novel Showboat. Recently, her novel Giant was musicalized by Michael John LaChiusa (SEE WHAT I WANNA SEE, FIRST LADY SUITE, THE WILD PARTY). The show features a book by Sybille Pearson, Music and Lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa, and luxuriant orchestrations by Bruce Coughlin with additional orchestrations by Larry Hochman.
