BWW Reviews: Cee Lo Green Brings More 'Smoke and Mirrors' Than Actual 'Voice' to the Agua Caliente

Celebrated recording artist and co-star of the TV phenomenon "The Voice" Cee Lo Green brought a technically savvy, high energy rap and rock show to the Agua Caliente Resort Spa Casino's THE SHOW, one of the best concert venues in Southern California, to a "near sold out" and very eager crowd. Ceelo is definitely a showman - but the concert proved to be more hype than substance. The entertainment factor was high --- the vocal prowess was not. Just like "The Wizard of Oz" --- if you took away all of the special effects that propped him up, the magical "man behind the curtain" was a bit disappointing. (more...)

Elaine Stritch Announces NYC Departure Following Final Cafe Carlyle Show

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel has just announced the return of its most famous resident, Elaine Stritch, to the Café Carlyle for her final engagement. Her new show, Elaine Stritch at the Carlyle: Movin' Over and Out, a freeform evening of story and song, will play for one week only. This will be the final chance to see Ms. Stritch – who has been dubbed the Carlyle's own “Octogenarian Eloise” – give one of her now-legendary performances at her home venue, before she leaves the Carlyle Hotel and the city of New York for good. Elaine Stritch Missing New York City Life After Move to Michigan

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Broadway legend Elaine Stritch recently announced that she would be leaving New York City for good, after 71 years here, to relocate to her home state of Michigan. According to the New York Post, the 88 year-old just left her home at the Carlyle, and 35 hotel employees were there to see her off when she got off the elevator. (more...)

McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, New Jersey (under the direction of Emily Mann, Artistic Director, and Timothy J. Shields, Managing Director) has announced that two-time Tony nominee Penny Fuller has replaced the previously announced Mary Beth Hurt in Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance.
