This summer, Connecticut Free Shakespeare (CFS) celebrates its 14th season under the stars with William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Performances will take place at 8:00 pm on July 31 to August 4at The American Shakespeare Festival Theater in Stratford, CT as part of Festival! USA Orders New Half-Hour Comedy DIVIDE & CONQUER

USA Network today greenlit a new original half hour comedy pilot with an order for DIVIDE & CONQUER from executive producer and writer Peter Ocko (FAIRLY LEGAL, "The Office," "Pushing Daisies"). The news comes on the heels of the network's first comedy series pickups for SIRENS and PLAYING HOUSE and a pilot order for LOVE IS DEAD. The network's first original comedies are slated to premiere in first quarter 2014, following the launch of the award-winning and top-rated comedy MODERN FAMILY, on USA on Tuesday, September 24 at 8/7c. SAFETY LAST Begins 5/24 at the Music Box Theatre

Hailed as one of the great film comedies of all time, the 1923 Romantic Comedy Safety Last includes one of the most famous images from the silent film era: Harold Lloyd clutching the hands of a large clock as he dangles from the outside of a skyscraper above moving traffic. For four days only, the Music Box Theatre gives audiences the rare opportunity to experience this comedy classic in celebration of its 90th anniversary. Lloyd was crowned the king of daredevil comedy thanks to Safety Last and - after decades of chases, explosions and CGI - the film's death-defying stunts still have the power to send audiences reeling. Safety Last will be screened in a new digital restoration made from the original nitrate camera negative, Friday-Monday, May 24-27 at the Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Avenue. (more...)
