The Orleans Hotel and Casino has announced An Evening with Jerry Lewis - Live from Las Vegas!, a one-night-only celebration at The Orleans Showroom, Sunday, November 18 at 8 p.m. The event will be filmed for a PBS television special premiering around Lewis's 87th birthday in March 2013. Patrons were treated to a classic trip down memory lane this week as four leading ladies of the legendary Persian Room New York came together for a book signing. Lainie Zazan, Michele Lee, Connie Stevens and Barbara Van Orden gathered at Barnes and Noble in California's The Grove to celebrate the release of Patty Farmer's new book "The Persian Room Presents." Anecdotes involving audience celebrity sightings included Barbara Streisand (by Stevens), Milton Berle (by Van Orden), Jack Jones and his thighs (by Lee) and a mob king who struck her while performing (by Kazan). BWW Reviews: Rebecca Luker is Just Lukewarm in Jerome Kern Tribute Show at 54 Below

During her recent show at 54 Below, Rebecca Luker's renditions of 16 Jerome Kern songs-some of which were more obscure pre-1920 ditties-were lovely and engaging. But as a complete nightclub performance, Luker's show was neither a compelling one-woman concert nor captivating cabaret. (more...)
