Chicago Director William Pullinsi Honored With Special Jeff Award To Honor 50 Years in Theatre

A Special Jeff Award will be presented to director/producer William Pullinsi at the Jeff Awards Ceremony, October 19th, in recognition of his 50 years in theatre. The Second City will receive a Tribute Award in honor of their 50th Anniversary. "Our ceremony will include highlights of Second City's unique brand of humor over the years and performances by the casts of "Studs Terkel's Not Working" and "America: All Better," says Producer Diane Hires. Nunn Helmed Menier Chocolate Factory 'NIGHT MUSIC' Transfers to West End's Garrick for Limited Run 3/28

The Menier Chocolate Factory's sell out production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A Little Night Music is to transfer to the West End for a strictly limited run. Trevor Nunn's critically acclaimed production will transfer to the Garrick Theatre from 28 March, with press night on Tuesday 7 April and is booking until 25 July 2009. A Little Night Music is produced in the West End by David Babani for Chocolate Factory Productions, Andrew Fell and Nica Burns and Max Weitzenhoffer for Nimax Theatres. (more...)

It's a story, of a lovely lady ... Florence Henderson gave audiences in Los Angele's Catalina Club an up close and "Honest" night of entertainment with "All The Lives Of Me," under the musical direction of Broadway composer and Emmy Award winner Glen Roven. Friends and colleagues included Carol Burnett, Donna Mills, Robert Wagner, Rita McKenzie, Mitzi Gaynor, Norm Crosby, and Bruce Vilanch (who is credited as a co writer of the program) among others, were on hand as Florence Henderson opened with a hysterically funny number entitled "Lifted," before treating audiences to a look at all of her lives. She prefaced that she didnt mean lives like Shirley MacLaine has lives, but rather as a young girl growing up in KY as the youngest of ten children. (more...)
