VOICE OVER: Awkwardness Prevails as the Elite 8 are Revealedby Sally Henry - Nov 20, 2012The results shows are very fun, because it's an hour of variety in which the coaches actually get to show off why they are part of this singing show. This is something that distinguishes The Voice on NBC from other shows like it. Another fun part is that the contestants get to sing together, and they can relax because they are not being judged on their performance. Then of course there are the guest performers, like Rascal Flatts tonight. All of those elements were part of tonight's results show, which revealed the Top 8 by the end. (more...)

BWW Reviews: St. Louis Actors' Studio's Terrific WAITING FOR GODOTby Chris Gibson - Apr 26, 2013I'm a big fan of the St. Louis Actors' Studio because they always seem to manage to mix the old with the new in intriguing fashion during their theme based seasons, and you can wind up catching a classic like WAITING FOR GODOT along the way. It's always a fun and engaging ride no matter what they offer up, and this time around they're presenting the absurdly profound work I just mentioned. Playwright Samuel Beckett's wacky characterizations and dialogue, along with it's see-through symbolism, is given a wonderful presentation by the company, with excellent performances and expert direction.
