Film Independent Spirit Awards 2013 Set for 2/23

Film Independent Co-Presidents Sean Mc Manus and Josh Welsh jointly announced today the 28th FILM INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARDS will once again hold its traditional Saturday afternoon awards show in a tent on the beach in Santa Monica on February 23. The live-to-tape event will be executive produced by Diana Zahn-Storey who returns for her 17th broadcast and will premiere later that evening on IFC at 10:00 pm ET/PT. (more...)

Sundance Institute Selects 13 Projects for Directors and Screenwriters Labs, June 2013

Sundance Institute today announced the 13 projects selected for its annual June Directors and Screenwriters Labs, taking place at the Sundance Resort in Utah from May 27 through June 27. Under the leadership of Michelle Satter, Founding Director of the Institute's Feature Film Program, and the artistic direction of Gyula Gazdag, the Fellows selected for this year's program include emerging filmmakers and projects from the United States, Europe, Mexico, Peru and Somalia. Sundance Film Festival Presents MOTHER OF GEORGE Screening and Talkback at Nashville's Belcourt Theatre Tonight

The Sundance Film Festival expands to audiences across the country for one special night of film and dialogue, dispatching 10 filmmakers from Park City to nine cities across the country to screen and discuss their direct-from-Festival films with audiences. The Belcourt Theatre has been selected by the Sundance Film Festival as one of only 10 venues in America to screen a specially selected film tonight, Jan. 31, 2013 as part of Sundance Film Festival USA. Vanity Fair writer Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger, co-authors of the 2010 biography, Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and the Marriage of the Century, recently discovered a previously unpublished travel piece by Truman Capote that might possibly have been a draft of one of the unfinished chapters of Capote's scandalous roman-a-clef, Answered Prayers. SYMPHONY SPACE 2013 Spring Swing and Access to the Arts Awards Gala Set for 4/15

Each spring Symphony Space honors individuals and organizations who share its dedication to keeping the arts accessible to all New Yorkers. On April 15, 2013, the Spring Swing and Access to the Arts Awards Gala will honor Steven M. Alden, Louise Kerz Hirschfeld & Lewis B. Cullman, Luis Ubiñas, and the late Isaiah Sheffer.
