Rosie O'Donnell to Produce and Star in Lifetime's 'America'by BWW News Desk - Oct 22, 2008Emmy winner Rosie O'Donnell has signed on to star in and executive produce the poignant new Lifetime Original Movie, 'America,' premiering in February 2009. Based on E.R. Frank's book of the same name, the film follows the story of a boy named America, an emotionally vacant sixteen-year-old, who spent his entire life shuffled through the foster care system. The company is pleased to bring Philadelphia audiences Michael Cristofer's award-winning The Shadow Box. This heartfelt drama begins previews on May 4, opens May 5, and will close May 21. The company is mounting its first production on the stage Upstairs at the Adrienne, 2030 Sansom Street. Tickets cost $14-$22.
