LIVES OF THE PIGEONS to Open to Open June 1 and 2 in Chicago

Gus and Max spend a day in the park, like every other day, on a day that, with the arrival of a mysterious man with a cane, is like no other. Lives of the Pigeons is by renowned poet Sherod Santos and is receiving its world premiere production at the side project under the direction of artistic director Adam Webster. Santos' play is a darkly comic take on individual identity, purpose in life and the nature of absolution, if and when it exists. (more...)

The Shakespeare Theatre Company, recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award, probes the burdens of leadership and the price of power in its Hero/Traitor Repertory of Coriolanus and Wallenstein. In the hands of The Studio Theatre's Artistic Director David Muse and STC's Artistic Director Michael Kahn, this pairing of Shakespearean and German epics challenges the concept of control among military and government institutions. Book and lyrics by Jeffrey Frace with music by Frank Ferrara, Jeffrey Frace, Sari Breznau, Rob Witmer, Spencer Hamp and Christian Frederickson, premiering at the Floyd and Delores Jones Playhouse. Previews begin Wednesday, April 17, 2013. The production runs through Sunday, April 28, and features the School of Drama's undergraduate program students and guest performers. (more...)


CHIMERICA Transfers to the Harold Pinter Theatre, August 6

The Headlong and Almeida Theatre's five star sold-out co-production of Lucy Kirkwood's new play Chimericawill transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre on 6 August for a strictly limited 11 week run with booking to 19 October 2013. Directed by Lyndsey Turner, Chimerica received its world premiere last month at the Almeida Theatre where it has subsequently been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. Set designs are by Es Devlin with costumes by Christina Cunningham, lighting by Tim Lutkin, sound by Carolyn Downing and video design by Finn Ross. Chimerica will be produced in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions, Bob Bartner/Norman Tulchinand Jean Doumanian. (more...)

Dallas Theater Center announced today the upcoming production of Neil Simon's classic American comedy, The Odd Couple, directed by DTC Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty. When two men with struggling relationships, neat and particular Felix Ungar and disheveled and rough-edged Oscar Madison, decide to live together, the results are funny and poignant. The Odd Couple opens with previews on Friday, March 15 and runs through Today, April 14 at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the AT&T Performing Arts Center. (more...)
