Shakespeare on the Sound to Stage AS YOU LIKE IT, 6/13-30

Connecticut's premier outdoor Shakespeare will present As You Like It, June 13-30, 2013. The show is one of Shakespeare's most beloved and pastoral comedies. Claire Shannon Kelly, currently the Director of Youth Programming for Shakespeare on the Sound and the director of the company's touring educational program, 'Speaking Daggers,' will direct. Kelly previously worked at the Ordway Theater, the Guthrie Theater, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and the George Street Playhouse. She is a resident of New Canaan. (more...)

The 2014 season of New York City Center's Tony Award-winning Encores! series will open with Little Me directed by John Rando and starring Christian Borle ('Smash,' Peter and the Starcatcher) on February 5, 2014. The season will continue with The Most Happy Fella, directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw and starring Shuler Hensley (Oklahoma!, The Whale), followed by Irma La Douce, directed by John Doyle. Target Donates $250,000 for Oklahoma Tornado Relief

Target Corp. announced it will donate $250,000 in monetary support and merchandise to assist with tornado relief efforts in Moore, Okla. The donation includes $150,000 in cash and in-kind donations to the American Red Cross, $30,000 in a cash donation to the Salvation Army and $20,000 in product donations for other community needs such as water and other rescue and recovery supplies. Target will also donate $50,000 to Plaza Tower and Briarwood Elementary Schools to aid in recovery efforts. (more...)

ABC Announces Oklahoma Tornado Special Coverage

ABC News continues to provide comprehensive coverage from Oklahoma, where a mammoth tornado carved a trail of destruction through the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. ABC News has a team of correspondents and anchors reporting from the scene for all broadcasts and platforms, including ABC News Anchor David Muir, ABC News Weather Editor Sam Champion, Meteorologist Ginger Zee, Chief National Correspondent Byron Pitts, Mike Boettcher, Cecilia Vega and Alex Perez. Boettcher has covered tornadoes in the Oklahoma area in the past; in May 1999 he reported on the historic EF-5 tornado that killed 42 people in the Oklahoma City area. (more...)
