DNA Presents VOICES, WHAC-A-MOLE, OUT OF AND INTO et al. 10/7-10/8by BWW News Desk - Sep 24, 2010As part of its pledge to foster emerging artists, Dance New Amsterdam (DNA) presents RAW Material; a juried performance series that encourages burgeoning artists to bring new work to a live audience. Mentored by Artistic Advisor Gus Solomons jr, this season's artists will experiment with innovative ways to construct dynamic frames, discover breakthrough transitions and articulate emotional connections. Fall 2010 RAW Material artists include: Randy Burd; Sumi Clements/Summation Dance; Moriah Evans and Sarah Beth Percival; Gorgas/PoMoMojo; Joanna Kotze; and Dawn Robinson. The six up and coming choreographers will present their new 10-minute works in DNA's 130-seat state-of-the-art theater, October 7 & 8, 2010 at 8:00pm. (more...)
Arden, Arima & Matheson Announced as Creative Team for SOMEWHERE IN TIME Musicalby BWW News Desk - Sep 14, 2009Ken Davenport, producer of the Broadway hits Blithe Spirit and Speed-the-Plow, and the Off-Broadway hits Altar Boyz, My First Time, and The Awesome 80s Prom, and a recent Tony Award nominee for Will Ferrell?s You?re Welcome America, today proudly announces that Leslie Arden will write the score for the new musical, Somewhere in Time (www.somewhereintimethemusical.com), based on the novel by Richard Matheson and the Universal film, which starred Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. Mr. Matheson and Mr. Davenport will collaborate on the book. Stafford Arima, currently represented by Altar Boyz at New World Stages, will direct.
