The Old Globe's Artistic Director Barry Edelstein to Offer Thinking Shakespeare Live! Program, 6/15by BWW News Desk - May 23, 2013The Old Globe today announced Thinking Shakespeare Live!, a 90-minute presentation exploring the language of Shakespeare, on Saturday, June 15 at 11 a.m. Led by Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein and assisted by three professional classical actors, this special program based on Edelstein's book, Thinking Shakespeare: A How-To Guide for Student Actors, Directors, and Anyone Else Who Wants to Feel More Comfortable with the Bard, will reveal a performer's approach to Shakespearean language so audiences may easily understand the poetry of the Bard. An ideal introduction to Shakespeare for families and young audiences, Thinking Shakespeare Live! will take place on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Dee Dee Bridgewater Leads LADY DAY Musical at the Little Shubert Theatreby BWW News Desk - May 16, 2013Multi-award-winning set designer Beowulf Boritt, along with noted costumes designer Patricia A. Hibbert, and acclaimed lighting designed by Ryan O'Gara will head the design team for the upcoming Billie Holiday musical "Lady Day" starring Tony and multiple Grammy Award-winner Dee Dee Bridgewater. With an opening set for Thursday, October 3rd(6:30PM) the production will take residence at Times Square's Little Shubert Theatre (422 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues). Written and directed by Stephen Stahl, the musical will make its New York debut having been produced at the Theatre de Boulogne-Billancourt and Theatre du Gymnase Marie Bell in Paris as well as The Donmar Warehouse and The Piccadilly Theatre in London, where it received critical praise and garnered an Olivier "Best Actress in a Musical" Award nomination for Ms. Bridgewater. BAD GIRLS CLUB Hits Season High on Oxygenby TV News Desk - May 15, 2013 Oxygen Media delivered record ratings on Tuesday scoring the #1 cable telecast of the day among women 18-34 with “Bad Girls Club' Atlanta and earned double digit growth with “Find Me My Man,” according to Nielsen. Part two of the three part reunion for “Bad Girls Club” Atlanta delivered 1.5 million total viewers, earning a season high among all key demos. In the 8pm hour, Oxygen was also the #1 cable network among women 18-49 and women 18-34, out delivering ABC. The fan-favorite series also dominated the conversation online becoming the most tweeted about series on broadcast and cable for the night with nearly 280,000 tweets, according to SocialGuide. Adding to the night's success, “Find Me My Man” earned 615,000 total viewers, up 41 percent among women 18-49, 45 percent with adults 18-49 and up 36 percent with total viewers, compared to last week. FIND ME MY MAN Scores as Oxygen's Highest-Rated Premiere of 2013by TV News Desk - Apr 10, 2013Viewers seeking dating advice flocked to Oxygen as the network's newest programming entry 'Find Me My Man' earned 995, 000 total viewers across two airings on premiere day (9pm and 11pm), according to Nielsen. The series, which focuses on daters in the Miami area, features tough-love matchmaker Natalie Clarice as she helps the City's hard-to-match ladies find love. Marking the network's highest series premiere in 2013, the premiere episode delivered impressive ratings in key demos including 688,000 total viewers, 406,000 adults 18-49 and 332,000 women 18-49. Compared to the prior four week time period, last night's premiere was up double digits, up 65 percent among women 18-49, 51 percent with adults 18-49 and up 42 percent with total viewers.
