Originally conceived by DJ Salisbury and Larry Moore, Moonshine & Mistletoe (An Appalachian Christmas Celebration) features a score woven from the authentic, hauntingly beautiful music of Appalachian mountain folk.

The Times Square Church, located on 51st Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue, is an extremely storied New York City spot. While it may not be apparent to those who unknowingly pass by the church, the venue across from the Gershwin’s stage door was once a glorious Broadway theater… and could potentially be one again someday.

This month, the reader question was: Which Broadway theaters have been demolished/repurposed and when/why?

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

Long Beach Opera presents a new production of Purcell's King Arthur --- a collaboration with Chicano provocateurs CULTURE CLASH and the authentic sounds of LA 's premiere Baroque orchestra MUSICA ANGELICA -- in January 2020 for only three performances at Long Beach's Beverly O'Neill Theatre.  Performances are Sunday January 12, Saturday January 18 and Sunday, January 19.

Illustrated with short comic films, home movies, and animation, Link Link Circus addresses the latest scientific discoveries about animal minds, intelligence, and emotions. Joined onstage by various animals portrayed by Pan, her trained dog, Rossellini transforms herself into Aristotle, Descartes, F.S. Skinner, Charles Darwin, and more, to deliver a vivid monologue about the brilliance of the animal kingdom.

Steve Martin and Martin Short will bring their critically acclaimed comedy tour Now You See Them, Soon You Won't for the first time to Australian and New Zealand audiences in November. This celebrated comedy show redefines the form in unexpected and profound ways, from two of the funniest, most influential and acclaimed talents of the past century. Comedy legends Steve Martin and Martin Short will perform at the Washington Pavilion in "Now You See Them, Soon You Won't," on Saturday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale starting October 24, 2018.

From March 27-April 1, Mabou Mines is proud to present the work of its 2018 SUITE/Space artists in a festival-like setting-two performances each night for 6 nights in a row-in the newly renovated, state-of-the-art Mabou Mines Theater. SUITE/Space is a new performance initiative for artists that reflect New York City's rich cultural landscape and provides artistic advisement, development support, rehearsal space, and opportunities for public performance. 

Callisto: a queer epic is a swirling constellation of remarkable queer stories. In London, 1680, opera star Arabella Hunt has secretly entered into the first recorded gay marriage in UK history. In Worcester, 1936, Alan Turing pays one final visit to Isobel Morcom, mother of his lost first love, Christopher. In the San Fernando Valley, 1979, Tammy Frazer arrives at Callisto Pornographic Studios, searching for the love of her life. And on the Moon, 2223, Lorn is building a paradise to sleep in, but Cal, his A.I. companion, is determined to keep him awake.

Following a sell-out run last year, Forward Arena today announces the full cast for Hal Coase's Callisto: a queer epic, which returns to Arcola Theatre as their final production this year.

Due to demand, Steve Martin and Martin Short have added two new 2017 dates of their hilarious show "An Evening You Will Forget For The Rest Of Your Lives featuring the Steep Canyon Rangers and Jeff Babko" at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Earl's version of Henry's death doesn't add up; so Ray determines to find the truth.  As Ray plays detective we encounter Henry's bizarre collection of friends as the story of his last days is uncovered. Family tensions are blown apart as Ray discovers more than he'd bargained for…
