DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Opens in Bristol, Connecticut Following Dramatic Hotel Makeover

DoubleTree by Hilton, Hilton Worldwide's fastest growing full-service brand, today announced the opening of its newest hotel in Bristol, Connecticut. Formerly a Clarion hotel, the DoubleTree by Hilton Bristol, Connecticut opens following a 13-month and more than $20 million renovation led by internationally-renowned design firm Parker-Torres Design LLC. The property will continue to be directed by the hotel's seasoned management team, led by longtime general manager, Lynn Dell, and new director of sales, Mark Lombardi, who brings with him a decade of experience in the hospitality industry. CMSD Students Present AIDA as 14th Annual All-City Musical

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) will present itsfourteenth annual All-City Musical, AIDA to crown the District's 2012-13 series of All-City Arts Programming. The production features the talents of over fifty CMSD students from across the District and will take place on the stage of the Ohio Theatre at PlayhouseSquare,May 31 - June 2, 2013. Tony Sias, Director of Arts Education for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, co-directs the production with Kimberly Brown. Aida, which features music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice, is based on the book by Linda Woolverton, Robert Falls and David Henry Hwang. It was originally directed on Broadway by Robert Falls and originally produced by Disney Theatrical Productions. The Perry-Mansfield New Works Festival Begins 6/14

The Perry-Mansfield New Works Festival, now in its 16th year, brings the Denver Center Theatre Company, Primary Stages (New York), and South Coast Repertory (California) to develop new pieces of theatre in the Rocky Mountains. Presented under the artistic direction of Andrew Leynse, (Artistic Director, Primary Stages), and with sponsorship from The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust, the New Works Festival continues Perry-Mansfield's founding principle of nurturing new talent with new work. Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for Kenneth Lin's Warrior Class. Kenneth Lin is a staff writer on Netflix's House of Cards and the creator of a new limited series, American Way, for USA Networks. PASSION's Melissa Errico on Vocal Rest; Cast Album Recording Delayed

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that the Classic Stage Company's production of Passion has delayed the recording of it's upcoming cast album, because Melissa Errico, who plays Clara in the show, is out on vocal rest. Errico has been out of the show since March 21 and the cast will not head to the recoding studio until she has fully recovered. In the mentime, Amy Justman has been filling in for Errico on stage. Amy Justman to Replace Melissa Errico for Final Performances of PASSION

Classic Stage Company announced today that Amy Justman will assume the role of Clara for the final 11 performances of their critically-acclaimed new production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's PASSION through Today, April 19 at CSC (136 East 13th Street). Melissa Errico, who originated the role of Clara, has been out of the show with bronchitis since March 21. PS Classics announced today that they had postponed the cast recording of PASSION (which was scheduled for today) until Ms. Errico is fully recovered. BWW Interviews: Buford Welcomes Award-Winning GTA SouthernStage to New Home

For over three decades, the award-winning Gainesville Theatre Alliance (GTA), a collaboration between the recently renamed University of North Georgia and Brenau University, has been one of the premiere theatre's in Georgia. While many of GTA's shows feature guest professional actors, directors, and designers, the majority of the on and off-stage work is done by students. However, in 2012, in a collaboration with the city of Buford, they founded GTA SouthernStage, a professional resident company in the new Buford Community Center, Town Park, & Theatre. Through April 28th, GTA SouthernStage is concluding its first season with an outstanding professional production of 'Alfred Hitchock's The 39 Steps' (read BWW Atlanta's glowing review: 'You'd Be Psycho to Miss Amazing 39 STEPS at GTA's SouthernStage'), and has announced that a production of the recent Broadway hit 'Lombardi' will open their second season in their new home in August.
