Gotham Stage Company and Slant Theatre Project Announce SPRINGBoard 2013 Reading Series

Gotham Stage Company's third installment of their new play series will be co-presented for the first time by Slant Theatre Project. Launched in 2011, the SPRINGBoard reading series exists to nurture new plays and to provide opportunities to both early and mid-career theatre artists. For centuries, the people had been making the journey out to the Frontier. Out there is freedom to live life the way one chooses. Unfortunately, freedom is never free. As a necessary evil, each colony had to ship resources back home to keep the Earth going. Every year, the Earth's way of life seemed to encroach more and more on the Frontier's freedom. More of their world's materials were taken from them. There was a growing distrust throughout the region as they saw more of their hard-earned work taken from their tired and exhausted hands. An immersive concert event featuring music from the most popular video games of all time, Video Games Live comes to Jacksonville's Times-Union Center's Moran Theater for one performance only on Thursday, January 31st at 7:30PM! Special events surround Video Games Live, including pre-show activities (costume contest, Guitar Hero competition, and prize give-a-ways) in the lobby starting at 6:15PM. The countdown continues as the Kimmel Center gears up for the return of Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts 2013. From March 28 to April 27, The Kimmel Center becomes a destination extraordinaire of cultural engagement, activating its plaza space with a feast of FREE activities, including live performances on the TD Bank Plaza Stage, a FREE time machine interactive exhibit, and nightly FREE "Flash of Time" theatrical show celebrating the theme, "If You Had a Time Machine…," sponsored by The Dow Chemical Company, and many more family friendly FREE performances and ticketed events with the return of the city-wide festival.
