BWW Exclusive: Hugh Panaro and Norm Lewis to Star in LES MISERABLES at the Muny July 15 - 21; Highly Anticipated Cast Announced!

The Muny announced principal casting for the fifth show of its fantastic 95th season, Les Miserables. Broadway veterans Hugh Panaro and Norm Lewis make their Muny debuts starring as Jean Valjean and Javert, respectively. Also starring is Michael McCormick as Thenardier. The production is directed by Richard Jay-Alexander, who served as the associate director and executive producer of the original Broadway, touring and Canadian companies of Les Miserables. (more...)

The Public Theater announced today that Kevin Kline will reprise his Tony Award-winning role of The Pirate King with Glenn Close as Ruth, Eric Idle as the Sergeant, and Martin Short as Major-General Stanley in the one-night-only concert performance of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE for The Public's annual gala. Co-chaired by Sir Howard Stringer, Arielle Tepper Madover, and Renee Beaumont, this unforgettable summer evening will also honor the late Nora Ephron who was a long-time board member and consummate lover of The Public's Shakespeare in the Park. Minneapolis Musical Theatre's SUNSET BOULEVARD Opens 5/31

Sunset Boulevard, Minneapolis Musical Theatre's (MMT) production of the Broadway hit based on the 1950 Oscar-winning movie about faded glory and unfulfilled ambition, debuts May 31-June 23, 2013 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's New Century Theatre (Street Level of City Center in downtown Minneapolis). Directed by Steven Meerdink, MMT's artistic director, this is the second production in the partnership between Hennepin Theatre Trust and Minneapolis Musical Theatre. The original Broadway musical, directed by Trevor Nunn with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, won seven 1995 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Single tickets are on sale now.
