News Desk - Mar 6, 2013Disney's THE LION KING will make its South American premiere in São Paulo, Brazil. T4F (Time For Fun), will present the production with its opening night on March 7th, 2013 at the Teatro Abril. THE LION KING in São Paulo will mark two firsts: as the largest stage musical ever presented in Brazil and the first time the show has been performed in Portuguese. The Disney and Cameron Mackintosh musical, MARY POPPINS will be produced in Mexico City by OCESA. The production will be performed for the first time in Spanish and will begin performances on November 14th, 2012 at the Telmex Cultural Center, in Mexico City. (more...)

Alan Menken Set for Concert to Benefit MA Arts Camp Scholarship Fund at Kaufman Center Tonightby BWW News Desk - Feb 28, 2013Eight-time Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken will take us on a unique musical journey through his renowned and beloved songs. This special performance will include a Q&A with the artist and will be followed by a dessert reception with desserts donated by Fairway Market and cheese donated by Murray's Cheese. Mr. Menken will be joined by three distinguished Belvoir Terrace alumnae: Deborah Grausman, Emma Rosenthal, and Nora Menken, who will each sing a Menken song, accompanied by Diane Marcus, Camp Director and Belvoir Alumna. The benefit performance will take place in the Kaufman Center's beautiful concert venue, Merkin Hall, tonight, February 28th at 7pm. The money raised will go to the Edna Y. BalletCollective to Present World Premiere at The Joyce Theatreby BWW News Desk - Feb 25, 2013Troy Schumacher, Director of BalletCollective (formerly Satellite Ballet) today announced that the company will make its Joyce Theater debut on August 14 and 15 with a program that will include a world premiere collaboration between Schumacher, composer Ellis Ludwig-Leone, poet Cynthia Zarin and new music ensemble ACME, as well as a revised version of the company's Epistasis (2012). In other news, seven company dancers will be featured in the spring issue of Carine Roitfeld's new high gloss magazine, CR Fashion Book.
