Tuta Theatre Chicago Extends THE SILENT LANGUAGE Through 6/9

TUTA Theatre Chicago extends the latest show in its 11th season, The Silent Language, a U.S. premiere, written by Serbian playwright Miodrag Stanisavljevic, translated by Zoran Paunovic, and directed by Artistic Director Jacqueline Stone. The Silent Language, extended by three weekends, will run through Sunday, June 9 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., in addition to Saturday and Sunday matinees at 4 p.m., at TUTA Studio Theatre, 2010 W. Fulton Street. There will be no performances on Saturday, June 1 and will be an added 8 p.m. performance to Sunday, June 2. There is a suggested donation of $25 at the door for adults and $15 for industry/students/children under 18 at all performances. Seating is extremely limited. Reservations are highly recommended. Cape May Stage Opens LEND ME A TENOR, 6/12

Take one womanizing opera singer, knock him out in a hotel room, add a jealous wife, a scheming impersonator, a hilariously ambitious bellhop, and toss in some people running around in their underwear, getting drunk, screaming and slamming doors, and you have the recipe for a rollicking good evening of theatre. Lend Me a Tenor, Ken Ludwig's deliriously funny farce set in the richly glamorous 1930s, opens at Cape May Stage's Robert Shackleton Playhouse Wednesday, June 12 and runs through July 26. (more...)

PETER PAN & More Set for 2013-2014 Pittsburgh International Children's Theater Family Series

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is pleased to announce the 2013-2014 Pittsburgh International Children's Theater Family Series. Now in its 44th season, the Family Series will present award-winning, professional theater companies featuring live performances for young audiences ages 3 and up. Performances based on prize-winning and popular children's books adapted for the stage by Theatreworks USA (USA), Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia (Canada), and Big Wooden Horse Theatre Company (UK) can be seen at various locations throughout the Pittsburgh area. Hand Made Theatre (Russia) will present a U.S. premiere choreography that creates a magical world of trains, boats, ticking clocks, flocks of birds and more. New to the 2013-2014 Family Series is a series special, Junie B. Jones by Theatreworks USA. School matinee performances for some shows will be held on Mondays at 10:15 a.m., at the Byham Theater. Broadway Sings for Pride will kickoff NYC Gay Pride 2013 by celebrating with their third annual Gay Pride benefit concert. The special one-night benefit entitled ' Unite' with join forces with American Idol and Billboard recording artistic Kimberley Locke, Broadway powerhouse Eden Espinosa (star of Wicked, Rent, Brooklyn The Musical), American Idol and Rent star Anwar Robinson and over 20 members of the Broadway community. The concert will benefit the Hetrick-Martin Institute and Broadway Sings for Pride. There will also be special speakers including a message of hope from Steven Guy and James Clementi of the Tyler Clementi Foundation. The night will be hosted by award winning host from the hit show 'truTV Presents: the World's Dumbest' Scott Nevins with staging by Rachele Rommes (Minnesota Timberwolves choreographer). Texas A&M University's MSC OPAS Announces Upcoming Season

Texas A&M University's MSC OPAS has announced the events coming to the 2013-14 "Sparks Will Fly" season. The organization unveiled a roster of performances to be presented from September 2013 to April 2014 that includes eight events on the Ann Cobb Wiatt Main Stage series, five on the Intimate Gatherings series, two on the OPAS JR series and two on the new OPAS Family series.
