BWW Reviews: La Jolla Playhouse parks THE CAR PLAYS in San Diego
by Michael L. Quintos - Mar 2, 2012

Produced by L.A. troupe Moving Arts from a concept by Paul Stein, THE CAR PLAYS is seriously one of the most thrilling theater experiences you will ever witness--or rather, get stuck in (and in a good way). A unique, site-specific theatrical offering that truly lives up to the idea of riveting, in-your-face theater, this intriguingly-conceived experiment is at times moving and at times unnerving and uncomfortable. Due to popular demand, the series has been extended through March 11 at the La Jolla Playhouse. (more...)

BWW Blog: Natalie Toro - I Hear You Wanna Know What I Thought Of Les Miserables?
by Guest Blogger: Natalie Toro - Jan 14, 2013

So many people have been emailing me and asking me what I thought of the movie? I have not answered most because I wanted to sit with my "feelings" and make sure that what I thought came from the "right" place. But is there ever a right place when you give an opinion of a show or of some else's work? I mean who the hell am I? Is it a coincidence that I am blogging this month? Do I sit here and give my blah opinion written in black and white forever or do I slash its throat at the helm and let it all hang out? I have certainly gotten my share of evil black and white reviews, some so rotten that it felt like the critic had a personal vendetta against me. Did I deserve it? Well, it's a matter of opinion. BWW Reviews: Actors' Summit's MOTHERHOOD OUT LOUD - Delightful, Thought-Provoking
by Roy Berko - Apr 8, 2013

The great fear of realizing that MOTHERHOOD OUT LOUD is a series of vignettes which look at varying phases of motherhood, is that it will turn out to be a Hallmark sentimental mindless experience. Fear not. The eighteen authors of the vignettes avoid making the experience sappy and purely entertaining. Instead, there is a balance of humor, pathos, and social commentary. (more...)
