Theatre by the Blind to Present YESTERDAY'S at Promenade Playhouse, 4/18-5/5

The owner of a failing jazz club seeks to save what her grandfather built, inspiring those around her to chase their dreams. Twelve visually impaired actors and musicians take the stage in Yesterday's, an original comedy created and performed by Theatre by the Blind, the country's only theater troupe composed entirely of blind actors. Created by the ensemble, co-written by Colin Simson and Lindsay Nyman, co-directed by Greg Shane and Lindsay Nyman, and presented by CRE Outreach, Yesterday's will run April 18 through May 5 at the Promenade Playhouse in Santa Monica. Ireland's Leitrim Tourism launches search for Leitrim Ambassadors in the US

Irish based Leitrim Tourism this week launched a recruitment drive to increase the number of Leitrim Ambassadors in the US. The initiative is targeting people who come from Leitrim and are now living in New York, and the US, and is encouraging them to become advocates of their native county by creating awareness of what's on offer and encouraging others to consider the beautiful county in the West of Ireland for future vacations. Valerie Harper to Reunite with Mary Tyler Moore Cast on TV Land's HOT IN CLEVELAND

TV Land announced today that the ladies of 'Hot in Cleveland' will soon be getting some special visitors in town as Mary Tyler Moore, Valerie Harper and Cloris Leachman reunite with their co-star of 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show,' Betty White. The casting news comes just weeks after Harper's diagnosis in January of leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, a rare and incurable form of brain cancer. (more...)

Four Local High School Students Receive Joseph Curka Playwrighting Prize at Young Playwrights Competition

Eight gifted students were honored at THE THEATER PROJECT'S eleventh annual Young Playwrights Competition Performance and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, March 16. The four prize winners received savings bonds and saw their work performed by the professional actors of THE THEATER PROJECT at the ceremony, held at the Cranford Community Center with the support of the Friends of the Cranford Library. Four additional writers were presented with honorable mention citations and gift certificates. (more...)
