Marvell Rep Opens GOD OF VENGEANCE and SPRING'S AWAKENING, 10/7 & 14

MARVELL REP, which received a Drama Desk Award nomination as Best Revival for its production of THE THREEPENNY OPERA earlier this season, begins previews for Sholem Asch's God of Vengeance on Tuesday, October 2 with the opening tonight, October 7th at TBG Theatre, 312 West 36th Street. On Monday, October 8th Frank Wedekind's play SPRING'S AWAKENING begins previews in rotating repertory at TBG Theatre. Both plays will be directed by Marvell Rep's Artistic Director Lenny Leibowitz. Horizon Theatre Presents TIME STANDS STILL, 9/14-10/14

Broadway makes its way to Atlanta this fall with the Southeastern premiere of Time Stands Still at Horizon Theatre. Playwright Donald Margulies' latest work about finding happiness in a world that seems to have gone crazy received a Tony nomination for Best Play in 2010. Time Stands Still is the fourth and final production of Horizon's 2012 season and runs September 14 - October 14. (more...)

Odyssey Theatre Presents COLLECTED STORIES, 9/8-10/14

Three-time Academy Award nominee Diane Ladd (Drama Desk Award nomination) brings Donald Margulies' critically acclaimed Collected Stories (Pulitzer Prize finalist, Ovation Award winner) to the Odyssey Theatre for a limited run. Celebrating its 10th anniversary season, this May at the Hudson Guild Theatre (441 West 26th Street), the White Horse Theater Company is presenting an exciting new production of Marsha Norman's Pulitzer Prize-winning play 'night, Mother starring Broadway veteran Joy Franz as Thelma, with Laura Siner playing daughter Jessie (who previously starred in White Horse's acclaimed In The Bar of a Tokyo Hotel). The production will run through May 19 and features direction from White Horse's Producing Artistic Director Cyndy A. Sundance Institute Announces 2013 Theatre Lab

Sundance Institute today announced the seven projects selected to participate in the 2013 Theatre Lab, July 8-28 at the Sundance Resort in Utah. Under the supervision of Philip Himberg, Artistic Director, and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the Theatre Lab is the centerpiece of the Sundance Institute's Theatre Program's year-round work and is designed to support emerging and established artists and to create a place where their original work can be effectively mentored and challenged. Arthur Schnitzler's FLIRTATION Begins at Marvell Rep Tonight

Previews for FLIRTATION, the third play in Marvell Rep's 'Desire and Delusion' winter repertory project, begin tonight at TBG Theatre. The romantic drama by Arthur Schnitzler - the same source material that inspired Max Ophuls' film version, LIEBELEI, which screens at Film Forum in early March - is part of Marvell Rep's three-show repertory exploring the themes of 'desire and delusion' in fin de siecle Vienna. FLIRTATION runs in repertory with NIGHT GAMES, a world premiere based on a Schnitzler novella, and SECRETS, a play about the relationship between Jung and Freud, who called Schnitzler his 'psychic twin,' through March 17. The official opening is Monday, February 25, at 8 p.m. Lenny Leibowitz, Marvell Rep's artistic director, directed the production using the translation by Carl R. Mueller. (more...)
