Second Stage Theatre Celebrates Annual Spring Gala, 5/20by BWW News Desk - May 8, 2013Second Stage Theatre's Spring Gala celebration will honor The Peter Jay Sharp Foundation, which has been an ongoing supporter of New York City arts and Second Stage Theatre for many years, as well as playwright and filmmaker Paul Weitz, whose plays Privilege, Show People, Trust, and Lonely, I'm Nothave all premiered with the off-Broadway company. The evening will also celebrate the first ten years of Second Stage Uptown and its curator, Christopher Burney, which has become an incubator for many theatre artists in the past decade. The gala will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Best Buy Theatre, 1515 Broadway at 44th street. The evening begins with cocktails at 6:00pm; dinner and the performance begin at 7:00pm. (more...)

DANCING's Contestants to Perform Two Routines Next Weekby TV News Desk - May 3, 2013 Six remaining couples take to the dance floor, MONDAY, MAY 6 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on ABC. For the first time this season, each couple will perform two routines in an effort to impress the judges and earn America's votes. In the first round, the couples will perform a traditional ballroom dance in a style that they've not yet done. In the second round, the couples will dance as part of a trio, featuring an eliminated pro or troupe member. In addition, viewers will be called to action on Twitter to choose new dance styles for each couple for the following week of competition. The new styles will include, Afro-Jazz, Disco, Flamenco, Hip-hop, Lindyhop and Charleston. (more...)
