A 25th anniversary production of the imaginative, fractured-fairy tale musical "Into the Woods" by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim will be staged at the theater where Sondheim was an apprentice in 1950, Westport Country Playhouse, in Westport, CT, through May 26. Directed by Mark Lamos, The Playhouse's artistic director, the musical will open the historic theater's 82nd season. It is co-produced with Baltimore's CENTERSTAGE. (more...)

Pantochino's BROTHERS GRIMM AND A SHOWGIRL Continues into June

Connecticut's Pantochino Productions Inc will bring its popular musical, "The Brothers Grimm and a Showgirl" to the Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury for two performances this week, and at New Haven's Audubon Arts On the Edge festival sponsored by the Arts Council of Greater New Haven on Saturday, June 2nd. An abridged version of the show has been added to the company's touring roster and will begin appearing in Connecticut schools on May 30th. (more...)


Nashville's Frist Center Offers Free Admission on International Museum Day, Armed Forces Day, 5/18-19
