Fiona Shaw to Star in RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER at BAM's 2013 Next Wave Festival; Full Lineup Announced 5/21

According to The New York Times, the Brooklyn Academy of Music will announce its 2013 Next Wave Festival lineup tomorrow, May 21. The festival will feature 34 productions in dance, music theater and opera and runs September 17-December 22, 2013. Fiona Shaw will star in The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, directed by Phyllida Shaw. Producing Director Mara Isaacs to Step Down at McCarter Theatre After 2012-13 Season

After eighteen seasons as McCarter's Producing Director, Mara Isaacs will be stepping down from her position this June. Isaacs, who has enjoyed a varied career as an educator and freelance producer while maintaining her position as Producing Director, will end her successful tenure with the Princeton-based McCarter Theatre at the conclusion of the 2012-2013 season. She will remain affiliated with McCarter as a consultant for the coming season. (more...)

Getty Museum and CNP Present PROMETHEUS BOUND, 8/29

This September, the Getty Museum and CalArts' Center for New Performance (CNP), in association with Trans Arts, will presentPrometheus Bound, the eighth annual outdoor theater production in the Getty Villa's Barbara and Lawrence Fleischman Theater. Featuring a newly-translated text by noted poet and essayist Joel Agee, Prometheus Bound will be directed by Travis Preston, artistic director of CNP and dean of the CalArts School of Theater, and include original music by composer Ellen Reid and celebrated jazz multi-instrumentalist Vinny Golia (who will also perform live onstage).
