On Saturday, June 22 at 8:30pm and Sunday, June 23 at 4pm, Caramoor kicks off the 68th Summer Festival with its first ever Broadway production, She Loves Me. Kelly Clarkson Will Not Return to AMERICAN IDOL as Judge; Jennifer Hudson Still Under Consideration?

Despite rumors that former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson was under consideration for one of the show's season 13 judging slots, the singer tells The Hollywood Reporter that she will not be returning to the program. Meanwhile, American Idol execs are reportedly still mulling over an all-alum judges panel for next season, including Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls). (more...)

Philadelphia Theatre Company announces that Mary Birdsong, Aisha de Haas, Kate Flannery, Ashley Austin Morris, andJoyce Van Patten will appear in the Philadelphia cast of Love, Loss, and What I Wore on June 25-July 7 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre. This intimate collection of stories by sisters Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron and directed by Karen Carpenter is based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman. Like the popular book, the show uses clothing, accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories to which all women can relate. 2Cents Theatre Group Announces Plans to Benefit HIV/AIDS Organizations With RENT

2Cents Theatre Group has announced that its production of Rent, Jonathan Larson's legendary Broadway smash hit that is now celebrating its 20th anniversary, will benefit four different HIV/AIDS research and support organizations during its run. Beginning on May 30, a percentage of each weekend's gross sales will be donated to AIDS Project Los Angeles, AIDS Research Alliance, Being Alive, and Alliance for Housing and Healing. Directed by Kristen Boule, with musical direction by Morgan Fitch, Rent opens on Friday, May 24. (more...)

Stephen Schwartz to Appear at National Symphony's THE WIZARD AND I, Now thru 5/18

The National Symphony Orchestra Pops will present three performances of The Wizard and I: The Musical Journey of Stephen Schwartz May 16-18 in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Led by Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke, the performances feature performances by Jeremy Jordan, Norm Lewis, Julia Murney, Jennifer Laura Thompson, and The Washington Chorus. The performances celebrate Stephen Schwartz's 65th birthday as well as the 10th anniversary of the perennially 'popular' Wicked, and Mr. Schwartz will make a special appearance in each of the three programs, performing and sharing stories of the creation of Wicked. Mad Cow Theatre has announced additional performances for the upcoming production of Dreamgirls, with music by Henry Krieger and lyrics and book by Tom Eyen, to be produced in The Harriett Theatre at 54 W. Church Street. The new performances are scheduled for: Thursday, July 4 at 7:30 pm; Friday, July 5 at 7:30 pm; Saturday, July 6 at 7:30 pm; and Sunday, July 7 at 2:30 pm.
