El reconocido conjunto catalan Sau vuelve a unirse a su celebre cancion 'Boig per tu', en esta ocasion aDaptandola a una nueva propuesta musical que, vigilaDa muy de cerca por uno de sus componentes, Pep Sala, aporta el trasfondo de una historia de amor juvenil que no solo movera de sus asientos a las generaciones actuales sino a aquellas en las que toDavia resuenan las canciones de uno de los grupos pioneros del rock catalan. Para ello, la productora ¡Silencio, roDamos! busca a jovenes actores, cantantes y bailarines de entre 18 y 29 años para las proximas audiciones, que tendran lugar el 30 y 31 de mayo en el teatro Barts de Barcelona. STEERAGE SONG, ALL IS CALM, OUR TOWN and More Set for Theater Latte Da's 2013-14 Season

Theater Latte Da announced yesterDay that a season of four adventures in musical storytelling and the continuation of a major new work development program will comprise its 16th Season. Slated for production are Steerage Song at The Lab Theater (September 25 - October 20, 2013), All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 at the Pantages Theatre (December 19-22, 2013), Cabaret at the Pantages Theatre (January 15 - February 9, 2014), and Our Town at The Lab Theater (March 12 - April 6, 2014). In spring 2014, the company will bring back NEXT: New Musicals in the Making, their program to develop new works for the musical theater canon. (more...)

Film Chronicling the 1911 Theft of the Mona Lisa Planned

Leonardo DiCaprio may have opened the Cannes Film Festival this week with his latest movie, 'The Great Gatsby,' but it has been Leonardo Da Vinci's masterpiece, the Mona Lisa, that has stolen the show. In the middle of this battle of the two Leonardos is veteran Hollywood producer, Larry A. Thompson, who announced that the mystery of the greatest art heist in history, the 1911 theft of the Mona Lisa (La GioconDa), is about to be a major motion picture titled 'Missing Mona Lisa.' Soprano Angela Meade Named Washington National Opera's Artist of the Year

Angela Meade has just been named Artist of the Year by the Washington National Opera (WNO). The May 13 announcement comes on the heels of the soprano's triumphant company debut, in which she "thrilled WNO devotees with her nearly mind-blowing mastery of Bellini's most challenging music" (Washington Times) in the title role of Norma. Previous recipients of the Artist of the Year award, which carries a $5,000 cash prize, include mezzo-sopranos Frederica von Stade and Denyce Graves, tenor Jerry Hadley, and conductor John Mauceri.
