Fraser, O'Hare & Coolidge Open Elling at the Barrymore Nov. 21; Previews Nov. 2

As BroadwayWorld previously speculated, Brendan Fraser, who's film career includes The Mummy, G.I. Joe, Encino Man, Journey to the Center of the Earth and other films will make his Broadway debut in the Simon Bent play - Elling, Variety reports. The play, which will begin previews at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on November 2, will open officially on November 21. The production will also star Denis O'Hare, Jennifer Coolidge, and Richard Easton and will be directed by Dough Hughes and produced by Howard Panter. (more...)

Richard Easton to Appear on 'Downstage Center' Tomorrow

The American Theatre Wing and XM Satellite Radio proudly present an interview with Tony Award winning actor, Richard Easton, on their weekly theatrical interview show, 'Downstage Center,' on XM's On Broadway (XM Channel 28). Easton will appear as the special guest on Friday, February 1 at 6 p.m. The show will repeat on Saturday February 2 at noon, Sunday, February 3 at 7 p.m., and Wednesday, February 6 at midnight. Public's Shakespeare in the Park Presents 'Hamlet' with Easton & Stuhlbarg

The Public Theater announced today that it will open the 2008 Shakespeare in the Park summer season with Artistic Director Oskar Eustis directing Hamlet. Hamlet will star Tony Award nominee Michael Stuhlbarg in the title role with Tony Award winner Richard Easton as Polonius. Hamlet will begin previews on Tuesday, May 27 and run through Sunday, June 29. (more...)
