Andrew Lloyd Webber to Sell 4 West End Theatres to Michael Grade

The Stage reports exclusively today that Andrew Lloyd Webber is close to inking a deal with a group headed by Michael Grade, the former BBC and ITV chairman. According to the report: 'The Stage understands that a deal was agreed earlier this week- believed to be in the region of £50 million - for a consortium led by Grade and theatrical agent Michael Linnit to purchase the New London, Palace, Cambridge and Her Majesty's theatres in London....Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group will retain ownership of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, London Palladium and its 50% stake in the Adelphi Theatre, which is co-owned with US company Nederlander.' Bus Trouble Causes 3/18 PRISCILLA Show To Cancel Mid-way

The 3/18 performance of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, the Musical at the Palace Theater was canceled mid-performance due to set malfunctions. A spokesperson for Priscilla stated 'We had a problem with our leading lady last night - the bus - but we have every intention of performing tonight.' UK SPAMALOT Offers Special eBay Auction

Python fans are to be offered the opportunity to bid for iconic items from the hit West End musical, Monty Python's SPAMALOT as the show concludes its run in the West End. Amongst the items up for auction are the Holy Grail which has adorned the front of the Palace Theatre since the show opened, the infamous killer rabbit with nasty pointy teeth, a Knight of Ni and French Taunter costume and in a paean to the expletive a 13 metres by 9.5 metres painted back cloth featuring the words ?Piss Off'.
