Richard P. Garmany Fund Renews Support for Hartt Chamber Music Series Through 2014by BWW News Desk - Mar 9, 2012The Hartt School, the comprehensive performing arts school of the University of Hartford, today announced that the Richard P. Garmany Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has renewed its support for School's Richard P. Garmany Chamber Music Series through 2014. The Fund, which has been the principal underwriter of the Series since its inception, will provide Hartt with $53,000 for each of the next two seasons. (more...)

Kirkland PAC Announce 2013 Season Lineupby BWW News Desk - Jan 15, 2013"Puff the Magic Dragon" singer-songwriter Peter Yarrow and Pulitzer Prize winning musicians eighth blackbird both perform in the next two weeks at the Kirkland Performance Center. There's also a world premier new work by Seattle-based Khambatta Dance Co. and hilarious political commentary with Mark Russell. Even with the cast in their street clothes, rehearsing in a community room at an apartment complex, we've already been able to establish a haunting atmosphere and some strong character dynamics. When you produce a new or unknown work like Magic, there's always that fear that you'll be in the middle of rehearsals before discovering the play's really not that good.
