Chico's FAS, Inc. announced that it has appointed Janice L. Fields to its Board of Directors, effective May 3, 2013, increasing the total number of Board seats to nine. Ms. Fields was also appointed to the Board's Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee. (more...)

Film Society of Lincoln Center Presents FOXY, THE COMPLETE PAM GRIER, Now thru 3/17

The Film Society of Lincoln Center presents the film series Foxy, The Complete Pam Grier (today, March 15-17). Screening at the Walter Reade Theater (165 West 65th Street) and the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center (144 West 65th Street), and highlighted by the attendance of Grier at several screenings, the film series includes such fan favorites and notable classics as THE BIG BIRD CAGE (1972), COFFY (1973), ESCAPE FROM LA (1996), FOXY BROWN (1974), and GREASED LIGHTNING (1977), as well as JACKIE BROWN (1997) featuring her Golden Globe and SAG Award nominated performance in the title role. Park Chan-wook, the South Korean director best known for his provocative and thrilling Vengeance Trilogy, will be the subject of a retrospective at Museum of the Moving Image from today, February 28 through March 3, 2013. The series, which is presented in cooperation with The Korea Society, includes four feature films and three rarely screened short films. It opens with a personal appearance by the director at a preview screening of his latest film, Stoker-his first English language picture-which stars Mia Wasikowska and Nicole Kidman, and is being released by Fox Searchlight Pictures in theaters nationwide on March 1. David Strathairn Will Headline ACT's UNDERNEATH THE LINTEL

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today two additional productions for the company's 47th subscription season: Glen Berger's acclaimed solo drama, Underneath the Lintel, starring Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee David Strathairn, and Beatrice Basso and Linda Alper's new translation of Eduardo De Filippo's poignant Italian comedy, Napoli!, featuring A.C.T. favorites Marco Barricelli and Stratford Festival star Seana McKenna. These two productions join the previously announced 1776, A Christmas Carol, Major Barbara, Venus in Fur, and The Orphan of Zhao.
