2Cents Theatre Group Announces Plans to Benefit HIV/AIDS Organizations With RENT

2Cents Theatre Group has announced that its production of Rent, Jonathan Larson's legendary Broadway smash hit that is now celebrating its 20th anniversary, will benefit four different HIV/AIDS research and support organizations during its run. Beginning on May 30, a percentage of each weekend's gross sales will be donated to AIDS Project Los Angeles, AIDS Research Alliance, Being Alive, and Alliance for Housing and Healing. Directed by Kristen Boule, with musical direction by Morgan Fitch, Rent opens on Friday, May 24. (more...)

Farah Alvin (Nine, Grease!, The Marvelous Wonderettes) , Anika Larsen (Avenue Q, Rent, Closer Than Ever, Xanadu), Patti Murin (Wicked, Lysistrata Jones), Samia Najimy Finnerty, N'Kenge (Motown: The Musical, Sondheim on Sondheim), Orfeh (Legally Blonde, The Gershwins' Fascinating Rhythm, Love, Janis, Saturday Night Fever), Jarrod Spector(Jersey Boys, Les Miserables) and American Idol Finalist Erika Van Pelt will comprise the lineup for the June 10 edition of The Pop Show, part of the Broadway at Birdland series at Birdland Jazz Club. ABC Studios Announce New 2013-2014 Series Orders

ABC Studios had another banner development year with nine new shows ordered to series. New dramas "Betrayal," "Killer Women," "Lucky 7," "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland," "Resurrection," along with new comedies "Trophy Wife" and "Mixology," were picked up at ABC. New drama "Intelligence" was ordered at CBS. ABC Studios had the most drama orders of any studio. (more...)

Brynn O'Malley to Join Rob McClure in HONEYMOON IN VEGAS at Paper Mill Playhouse

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that ANNIE star Brynn O'Malley will join previously announced Rob McClure in Jason Robert Brown's Honeymoon in Vegas at Paper Mill Playhouse. The new musical will open September 26 and run through October 27, 2013 at the New Jersey theatre. (more...)

Original Kids Theatre Company's Alumni Show Will Be AVENUE Q

Human Race Theatre Opens AVENUE Q, 6/6

Leave the kids at home and get ready for some ridiculous, riotous and downright raunchy puppet behavior as The Human Race Theatre Company presents Avenue Q, the 2004 triple Tony Award winner by Robert Lopez, Jeff Marx and Jeff Whitty. Presented in collaboration with the puppet masters at The Zoot Theatre Company, it's laugh-out-loud musical mayhem that's not for the little ones or the faint of heart.
