Author Nwanganga Shields Discusses Marriages of Convenience in EJITURU

Marriage of convenience has indeed proliferated in today's society. What many describe as marital bliss is just merely a desperate course of action for others, a means to an end. This has been evidenced by the arrest done recently in Canada where the Canada Border Services Agency has charged seven people who were allegedly involved in A Marriage of Convenience scheme. According to Brandon Sun News, “the agency says the accused acted as go-betweens who arranged for Canadian citizens to marry and sponsor Chinese nationals”. This just goes to show how such marriage has indeed become a rampant business for many opportunists. The Drilling Company's Shakespeare in the Park(ing) Lot will open its 2010 season with 'Love's Labours Lost,' directed by Kathy Curtis, July 8 to 24. The season will also include 'Julius Caesar,' directed by Hamilton Clancy, July 29 to August 14. This is the 19th consecutive year for Shakespeare in the Park(ing) Lot, a favorite New York summertime cultural treat that is performed free in a municipal parking lot at the corner of Ludlow and Broome Streets, Manhattan.
